Krzysztof Wodiczko was a visual artist born in 1943 born in Warsaw. Poland.
What makes his work so unique is the ability to create and connect human connections in his artwork Specifically, he uses personal communication instruments and survival vehicles are central to Wodiczko's that creates social and political marginalisation through solutions for alienated and excluded communities to “develop their shattered abilities to communicate” and share their experiences . His artistic practice is an exercise in democracy, politics and social structures through unexpected and controversial art forms.
His idea stems from the message of improving society and creating artworks that develop social awareness of social or political issues. One work that he did was the "Rostrum Vehicle" in 1972, which was powered by the energy of the human voice. Furthermore, the messages of this work of art comments on the contemporary propaganda and political situation and symbolize the struggle for civil rights, again speaking about the social change he strives for.
He uses mosttly audio, projections and videos to create a platform specifically those who are sick, homeless ,in war, or exile. The ideas or works he creates isn't just to solve problems but more so develop a visual approach that people can look and understand from.
